Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Nechvidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Snap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snap has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Nikolay Nechvidov looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolay Nechvidov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Todd Snap!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nechvidov tries to clinch but Snap moves out of range.

Snap looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snap works his foot free and advances to mount.
Snap controlling his opponent.
Nechvidov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Snap controlling from the full mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
I looks like Snap might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Snap looking to secure an arm triangle but Nechvidov defends it well.
Snap looking to control but Nechvidov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Nechvidov has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Snap's lack of action.
Snap tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nechvidov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nechvidov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Snap.

Snap is trying to work for a kimura but Nechvidov is defending well.
Snap looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Snap seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nechvidov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Snap looks gassed!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nechvidov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Snap's half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nechvidov looks to land a strike but Snap avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Nechvidov trying to control the position from guard on top but Snap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Snap pushes a forearm under Nechvidov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Nechvidov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Todd Snap!
