PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Green Pony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skaar has chosen Die MF Die as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as John Skaar enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Green Pony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Skaar!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pony throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Skaar's waist but Skaar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pony off to one side.
Pony shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Skaar pinned against the cage. Skaar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Skaar has Pony up against the cage in a clinch.
Skaar gets underhooks to prevent Pony's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Green Pony. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Skaar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Skaar clinches with his opponent.
Pony goes for a takedown attempt but Skaar pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pony looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Skaar moves into the clinch.
Pony is working for takedown but Skaar is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pony is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Skaar pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pony tries for a takedown but Skaar manages to get underhooks.

Skaar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Skaar as Pony shoots in.
Pony is breathing heavily.

Pony tries to keep at a distance but Skaar has taken the fight into the clinch.

Skaar has clasped his hands together around Pony's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Skaar trying to control the action but Pony is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pony stops Skaar from passing to mount.
Skaar trying to control the position but Pony is working away.
Skaar happy to just control the position for now.
Pony tries to buck Skaar off but Skaar is having none of it.
Skaar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pony keeps working.
Pony tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Skaar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Skaar lands an elbow.
Pony gets back to half guard.
Pony flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Skaar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Skaar is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Skaar is trying to control the action in half guard but Pony is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Pony has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Skaar. Oh but Pony has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Skaar goes limp - he's gone! Pony jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
