Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Shlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Stackhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Shlemenko has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Shlemenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Stackhouse!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shlemenko shoots for a takedown but Stackhouse saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Stackhouse gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shlemenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stackhouse wants to sweep here but Shlemenko controlling him for the moment.

Stackhouse looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shlemenko is one step ahead there.

Stackhouse has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shlemenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shlemenko slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Stackhouse is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shlemenko is controlling him.

Shlemenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Stackhouse looks to land a right hand but Shlemenko moved out of range.
Shlemenko closes the distance and clinches up with Stackhouse, looking for a takedown. Shlemenko pushes Stackhouse against the cage but Stackhouse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Stackhouse shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shlemenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stackhouse's guard.

Shlemenko wants to pass the guard but Stackhouse is keeping the position.

Stackhouse misses with a takedown

so Shlemenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stackhouse wants to sweep here but Shlemenko controlling him for the moment.

Shlemenko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stackhouse dives on top into guard.
Shlemenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stackhouse controls the pace.
Shlemenko wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stackhouse is now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shlemenko is looking to improve his position.

Stackhouse has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Shlemenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Stackhouse has a good base and remains in mount.
Stackhouse is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Shlemenko working to try and regain half guard.
Stackhouse postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shlemenko looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stackhouse wants to control the pace but Shlemenko is squirming around nicely.
Alexander Shlemenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stackhouse throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Shlemenko tries to reverse the position but Stackhouse maintains control.
Shlemenko flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Stackhouse blocks Shlemenko's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Shlemenko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Shlemenko bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Shlemenko looking to sit in guard and control but Stackhouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stackhouse passes Shlemenko's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Stackhouse wants to stand up but Shlemenko is controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shlemenko won't allow Stackhouse to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alexander Shlemenko will probably get the nod.
That's time! Shlemenko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Shlemenko is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Stackhouse's half guard.

Shlemenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stackhouse defends it well.

Stackhouse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shlemenko!
