Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Jackson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Martinez is trying to keep Jackson in close.

Martinez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Martinez has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martinez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Martinez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead.

Jackson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Martinez's guard. Nice work there by Jackson.
Jackson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Martinez's head.
Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Martinez tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martinez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Martinez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

Martinez throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Jackson crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
