Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Kouser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Maine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kouser comes to the ring accompanied by La Dispute- Bury Your Flame. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Kouser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Maine!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Maine, right into the meat.
Nice uppercut lands for Kouser. That snapped Maine's head back.
Maine misses with an attempted mid kick.
Maine tries to clinch there but Kouser circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maine fails with a takedown attempt.

Good leg kick by Maine there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kouser misses the shot to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maine throws a sloppy head kick and Kouser moves out of range easily.
Maine shoots in looking for a takedown. Kouser tries to sprawl out of it but Maine keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Kouser manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kouser throws a shot from downtown. Maine moves away and avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Kouser will probably get the nod.

Kouser misses with a hook. Maine ducked under it nicely.
Maine takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kouser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kouser somewhat.
Maine doesn't manage to clinch there - Kouser circles away.

Maine looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Maine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kouser throws out the jab.

Maine tries to clinch up but Kouser circles away and keeps his distance.

Maine throws a front kick that sends Kouser stumbling back into the ropes.
Maine tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Maine shoots in but Kouser avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kouser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maine moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maine moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Maine tries to clinch up.

Christopher Maine really dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kouser wants to control from the top but Maine keeps moving.

Kouser postures up in Maine's guard and throws a big left but Maine blocks it.

Maine is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Maine is looking for a triangle but Kouser pushes his legs off easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kouser misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kouser throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maine feints and then cracks Kouser's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kouser down.
Maine chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Steve Kouser had his way with Christopher Maine in that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Maine shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like Christopher Maine has been cut.
Kouser avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Maine wants to land a leg kick but Kouser is out of range.

Steve Kouser showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kouser has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
