Schmuckatelli comes to the cage accompanied by Gacy's Place by The Mentally Ill. Malenko has chosen Control Machete - Comprendes Mendes as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schmuckatelli as he avoids it easily.
Schmuckatelli punishes Malenko's body with a nice straight punch.
Schmuckatelli lands a nice shot to the body.
Malenko tries to clinch up.
Malenko misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Schmuckatelli stuffs the takedown attempt from Malenko. Malenko gets slowly back to his feet.
Joe Schmuckatelli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Malenko.
Schmuckatelli clobbers Malenko with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Diego Malenko has been cut.
Schmuckatelli jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schmuckatelli dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Malenko. That did some damage!
Malenko looks gassed!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Schmuckatelli, right into the meat.
Malenko gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Schmuckatelli.

Schmuckatelli has taken the fight to the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Schmuckatelli.
Schmuckatelli lands a nice uppercut.

That has opened up Diego Malenko's cut even more.
Schmuckatelli lands a body shot in the clinch.
Schmuckatelli digs a right hand underneath Malenko's ribcage. Malenko let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Schmuckatelli lands a hook that snaps the head of Malenko backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Schmuckatelli lands a body shot.
Schmuckatelli scores with a knee to the head.

Schmuckatelli's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Schmuckatelli is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Malenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Schmuckatelli fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Malenko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schmuckatelli lands with a nice combination. Malenko backs away looking to recover.

The cut above Diego Malenko's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Schmuckatelli throws a leg kick which misses Malenko's front leg but catches the back leg as Malenko tries to avoid it.
Schmuckatelli lands a slapping body shot.

Schmuckatelli closes the distance and clinches.
Schmuckatelli lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Malenko backwards.
Malenko is trying desperately to land a takedown but Schmuckatelli is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Malenko.

Schmuckatelli gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Well, if Schmuckatelli is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Malenko has hold of Schmuckatelli's hands but Schmuckatelli slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Diego Malenko's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
