PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pouncy McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vel Sirra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirra has chosen Omen by Prodigy as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirra misses with a straight left.
McGee shoots in for a double leg but Sirra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sirra throws out a powerful jab.
McGee dodges the punch combination from Sirra.
McGee wants to clinch up but Sirra keeps it at a distance.
Sirra misses with a double jab.
Sirra looks to land a combination but McGee avoids it well.
McGee fails with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Sirra does no damage.
McGee closes the distance and clinches up with Sirra, looking for a takedown. McGee pushes Sirra against the cage but Sirra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pouncy McGee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGee fails to land the takedown.
Sirra misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McGee takes one on the button.

McGee shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sirra is trying to defend but McGee finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

McGee is looking for a kimura but Sirra is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGee to get the leverage.

McGee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sirra doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McGee.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sirra wants to get back to full guard.

Sirra kicks McGee off and gets back to his feet.
Sirra looks to land a combination but McGee avoids it well.
Sirra wants to clinch

and McGee counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sirra!
McGee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sirra is looking to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by McGee there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Sirra is squirming around, avoiding McGee's attempts to control the action.
Sirra is desperately trying to improve his position but McGee has a good base and remains in mount.
McGee fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

McGee goes for an armbar but Sirra turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sirra.

McGee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McGee looking for a sweep. Not yet McGee, not yet.

McGee has his feet on Sirra's thighs here. He's pushed Sirra off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Sirra screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
