Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gauge will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gauge swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.

Gauge scores a takedown into full mount!
Smith is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Smith is in a horrible position here. Gauge smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Smith is rocked!

It looks like Sean Smith has been cut.
Smith wants to hold on but Gauge pushes him away.
Gauge throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

That has opened up Sean Smith's cut even more.
Smith wants to control but Gauge is having none of it.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Gauge tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gauge manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gauge throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Gauge's shoulder, as Gauge tries to avoid the shot.
Gauge slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sean Smith's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gauge looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gauge avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gauge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Smith tries for a kimura but Gauge is defending well.

Gauge sneaks out the side door and pushes Smith away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gauge tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Gauge.

and Gauge counters with a takedown into side control.
Smith is trying to control Gauge's posture but Gauge avoids it.
Gauge postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Gauge has control of an arm but Smith manages to advance to Gauge's back!
Gauge just trying to survive but Smith is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Gauge is really stuck here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Smith is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gauge has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Smith has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gauge taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Smith doesn't care though - he's delighted!
