Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berlin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Berlin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Johnson looking for submissions off his back.

Berlin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Johnson tries to get to full guard but Berlin has control of the leg.
Johnson is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Berlin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.

Berlin jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Berlin is retaining full guard.
Berlin wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Berlin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.

Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Berlin escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Berlin wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Berlin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Berlin is breathing heavily.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Berlin is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Berlin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Berlin wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Berlin dives on top into guard.

Johnson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Berlin stacks Johnson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Berlin!
Berlin slows the pace down.
Johnson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Berlin asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Berlin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Berlin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Berlin is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.

Johnson has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Berlin. Oh but Johnson has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Berlin goes limp - he's gone! Johnson jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
