The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Patched does a little dance to reset his feet.
Patched staying out of range there.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Patched looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Jones lands with a right hand.

Patched shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Patched in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee warns Patched that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

It looks like Cabbage Patched has been cut.
Jones avoids the attempt from Patched to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patched is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.
Patched avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jones.
Patched keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones scoring with strikes but Patched is staying in there.
Patched tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Patched is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Patched is wriggling around trying to escape.
