Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antero Vipunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vipunen has chosen Onward to Victory as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vipunen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vipunen lands in his opponent's guard.

Vipunen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diggler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diggler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diggler!

Diggler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Diggler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vipunen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Diggler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vipunen pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Vipunen winds up and cracks Diggler with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Vipunen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diggler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vipunen.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vipunen connects with a nice short shot to Diggler's temple.
Vipunen wants to control but Diggler is keeping him busy.
Diggler is looking to improve his position.
Vipunen is nestled in close to Diggler, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Diggler is looking for a sweep. Vipunen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vipunen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Diggler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Horrible takedown by Vipunen or perhaps it was just good defense by Diggler which made him look bad.
Dirk Diggler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antero Vipunen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vipunen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vipunen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diggler.

Vipunen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diggler but Diggler pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Antero Vipunen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vipunen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Diggler looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vipunen has picked Diggler up and slammed him! Diggler can't keep hold of the triangle and Vipunen manages to pass to side control!
