The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jeffers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Campbell's guard.
Jeffers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Campbell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Campbell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Campbell tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jeffers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Campbell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jeffers's guard.

Campbell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jeffers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Campbell has Jeffers in his guard.

Jeffers drops back looking for a leg! Campbell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Campbell manages to kick Jeffers off! Jeffers jumps back into Campbell's guard.

Campbell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jeffers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Campbell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jeffers's back instead.

Campbell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jeffers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jeffers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Campbell gets his way!
