Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Jesse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dee Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Jesse is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Jesse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dee Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jesse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Johnson darts in and clinches Jesse up against the ropes.

Jesse jumps guard.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson wants to get up but he can't break Jesse's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jesse wants to sweep but no luck.
Jesse is adopting a defensive guard.
Jesse throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jesse uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
Jesse shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.
Jesse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Jesse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jesse scores with a kick to the midsection.
Left hook, right uppercut from Johnson.

Jesse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Johnson looks gassed!
Jesse slips nicely into half guard.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jesse pulls his head out easily.
Jesse is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jesse is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jesse is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jesse stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Johnson to get to his feet.
Jesse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.

Jesse moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Johnson prevents the takedown attempt.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jesse darts in and clinches Johnson up against the ropes.
Jesse fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jesse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jesse works the jab nicely.
Johnson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Jesse will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jesse takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson gets off balance looking for a body kick

so Jesse counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jesse defends it easily.
Jesse advances position into side control!

Jesse stands up and beckons Johnson to his feet.
Jesse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Jesse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bobby Jesse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Jesse moves out of range easily.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jesse swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Johnson lands the left hand.
Jesse fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jesse shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jesse thows a huge punch but Johnson dodges it nicely.
Jesse wants to stand up but Johnson has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson actively working from the bottom here.
Jesse missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jesse moves nicely into side control.
Johnson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jesse wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Johnson bucks up and tries to throw Jesse off but instead Jesse has got his back!
A lull in the action here.
Johnson has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Jesse has good solid back control here.
I really don't envy Johnson right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

You can see the frustration on Johnson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Jesse dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Jesse feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jesse has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jesse defends well.
Jesse is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jesse got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jesse has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jesse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Jesse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Bobby Jesse just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jesse fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Jesse, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jesse looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jesse avoids a kick to the body.
Jesse fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Jesse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson throws a leg kick that is checked

and Jesse counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jesse.
Jesse jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Jesse around his waist. Jesse gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jesse wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jesse jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Jesse around his waist. Jesse gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jesse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Johnson leaves Jesse with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Johnson wants to clinch but Jesse slips to the side
and Jesse counters with an inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jesse is defended easily by Johnson.
Johnson throws a nice outside leg kick.

Johnson scores with a head kick.
Jesse keeps the fight on the outside.
Jesse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Jesse.


Jesse is rocked!

Johnson forces Jesse back against the ropes and clinches.
Oh Jesse is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Bobby Jesse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Jesse hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dee Johnson!
