Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ray Den (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitto Picotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ray Den!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vitto Picotto!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picotto throws a head kick but Den moves out of range.

Den changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Picotto looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Picotto manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Den is looking to improve his position.
Den holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Picotto stalling away here and it's allowed Den to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Picotto looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Den looking to hit a scissor sweep but Picotto is one step ahead there.

Picotto trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Den is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Picotto tries to roll over but Den keeps him under control.
Den content to control rather than advance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Picotto tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Picotto wants to get back to full guard.
Picotto wants to get back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Den seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Den's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Picotto wants to get back to his feet.
Picotto tries to get to full guard but Den has control of the leg.
Picotto trying to hold on to Den's head to control him but Den postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Den dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Picotto misses with a takedown attempt

and Den counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Den.
Den content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Picotto looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Den seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Den slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Den happy to just control the position for now.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ray Den just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Den instigates a clinch.
Den on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Den misses with a knee to the head.

Picotto jumps guard and drags Den to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Picotto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Den seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Picotto for as long as he can get away with.

Den pushing down on Picotto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Den looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Den dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Den wants to clinch.

Den bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Den is staying tight to Picotto's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ray Den just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Picotto misses with a two punch combination.
A head kick misses from Picotto.
Picotto shoots and misses

and Den counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Picotto!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ray Den is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Picotto tries to hold on but Den postures up.
Picotto is looking to get to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Picotto regains half guard.
Den stalling.
Picotto trying to control but Den postures up.
Vitto Picotto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Picotto looks like he's trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ray Den showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Den has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
