The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samsonov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Samsonov tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Renton is able to avoid easily.
A jab from Samsonov finds it's way through Renton's defenses.

It looks like Mark Renton has been cut.
Samsonov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Renton throws a right hand that Samsonov ducks under and follows up with a left that Samsonov also avoids with ease.

Renton moves into the clinch.
Samsonov is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Renton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Samsonov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Renton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Renton rushes Samsonov and presses him up against the cage.

Renton gets control of Samsonov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Renton will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Samsonov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Renton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Samsonov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Samsonov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Renton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Samsonov defends well.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Igor Samsonov just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Renton tries to work over Samsonov's front leg with a kick but Samsonov checks it.

Samsonov cracks Renton with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Renton tries to clinch up but Samsonov circles away and keeps his distance.
Renton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Samsonov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Samsonov connects with the punch.
Samsonov throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Renton colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Samsonov as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Renton is left battered and dazed whilst Samsonov and his camp cheer!
