Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tam Tam Waddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jimenez's choice of entrance music: Dance Gavin Dance-Tree Village. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tam Tam Waddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez looks to land a combination but Waddy avoids it well.
Jimenez leaves Waddy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Waddy has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jimenez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Waddy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Waddy lands in his opponent's guard.
Jimenez has momentary wrist control but Waddy slips an elbow through the middle.
Jimenez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Waddy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Waddy prevents Jimenez from getting back to his feet.
Waddy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Waddy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Waddy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jimenez was covering up waiting for the punch and Waddy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jimenez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Waddy is controlling him.
Waddy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Waddy lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Waddy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Waddy is looking to work some ground and pound but Jimenez has wrist control.
Waddy throws a big right hand that misses.
Waddy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jimenez is keeping the position for now.
Jimenez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waddy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Waddy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jimenez can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jimenez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jimenez looks gassed!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jimenez just misses with a punch to the body.

Waddy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jimenez dodges the ground and pound from Waddy.
Jimenez is not content to let Waddy control the position.
Waddy throws an elbow but Jimenez slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Waddy in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Jimenez is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tam Tam Waddy!
