PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between agapito stonesteel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Afra Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Afra Sr was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, agapito stonesteel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Afra Sr!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

stonesteel moves into the clinch.
stonesteel tries to circle away but Sr has him pinned against the cage.
stonesteel prevents a takedown attempt there.
stonesteel is looking to break free of the clinch but Sr has double underhooks.
stonesteel tries to pull guard but Sr won't allow it.

stonesteel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
stonesteel fails with the takedown.

Sr gets caught flat footed, as stonesteel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

stonesteel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sr, up you get!
Sr doesn't succeed with the takedown

and stonesteel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by stonesteel.
stonesteel stops Sr from standing up.
stonesteel works over Sr with some ground and pound from guard.
stonesteel wanted to stand there but Sr had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
stonesteel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sr's head.

stonesteel gets to his feet. Sr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Sr looks gassed!
stonesteel looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sr tries to clinch but stonesteel moves away

and stonesteel counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
stonesteel wants to control but Sr is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

stonesteel decides to stand and escape the position.

stonesteel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

stonesteel stands up and beckons Sr to join him on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Sr makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. stonesteel really felt that one!
Sr with a lazy takedown attempt

and stonesteel moves into the clinch.
agapito stonesteel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Afra Sr.
stonesteel tries to break free but Sr pushes him back against the cage.
Sr has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. stonesteel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

stonesteel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sr uses from the top position.

stonesteel kicks Sr off and gets to his feet.
stonesteel fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sr pushes stonesteel up against the cage in a clinch.

stonesteel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Still in the clinch, Sr scores with a nice short uppercut.
stonesteel is pressed up against the cage. Sr has hold of a leg and is looking to drag stonesteel down to the mat. stonesteel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

so stonesteel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
stonesteel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

stonesteel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sr is looking to sinch up a triangle. stonesteel throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sr's body to avoid the submission. Sr has instead reached around stonesteel's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sr arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
