Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zell Dincht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward comes to the cage accompanied by Spazz - Campaign For Emo Destruction. Dincht has chosen Fanfare as his entrance music. Zell Dincht has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Max Ward's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward loads up on a big right hand but Dincht slips the punch.
Ward tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ward throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Ward, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dincht throws a hook but Ward avoids it easily.

Dincht has Ward up against the cage in a clinch.

Dincht gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ward regains guard.
Ward tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ward working a defensive guard here.
Ward is really struggling to control Dincht but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dincht wants to pass the guard but Ward is keeping the position.

Ward escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dincht gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dincht controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dincht wants to control from the top but Ward keeps moving.

Dincht postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ward throws a series of punches but Dincht moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dincht looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dincht takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A cross from Ward lands.
Dincht slaps away a takedown attempt from Ward, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dincht fails to land with a series of punches.
Ward throws a shot to the body.
Ward tries to land a leg kick but Dincht saw it coming and moves away.
Dincht wants to clinch.
Dincht throws a body punch but Ward moves out of range.

Dincht wants to control from the top but Ward keeps moving.

Dincht drops back looking for a leg! Ward is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ward manages to kick Dincht off! Dincht jumps back into Ward's guard.
Ward looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dincht trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ward stalks Dincht and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dincht's face. Dincht staggers backwards, shaken.
Dincht's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Dincht duly obliges.


It looks like Max Ward has been cut.

Ward is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dincht's half guard.
Dincht keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Dincht is not content to let Ward control the position.

Ward is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dincht moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ward is looking to work some ground and pound but Dincht has wrist control.

Ward got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dincht has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ward has managed to get both his arms back between Dincht's legs - danger averted.

Dincht has momentary wrist control but Ward slips an elbow through the middle.
Dincht wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ward advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ward tries to move to mount but Dincht blocks the move with his legs.
Ward advances to full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zell Dincht dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Max Ward's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ward scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Dincht shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ward as he avoids it easily.
Dincht takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Ward throws out a powerful jab.
Ward scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dincht doesn't seem bothered though.
Dincht looks to land a combination. Ward sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ward works over Dincht's head and body with a nice combination.
Dincht doesn't manage to clinch there - Ward circles away.
Ward thuds his right hand into Dincht's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ward stuffs the takedown.
Ward scores with a shot to the body.
Dincht tries to clinch up but Ward circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice jab there from Ward.
Ward sizes up Dincht with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ward dips to his left and cracks Dincht with an uppercut!
Dincht is breathing heavily.
Ward lands a nice shot that snaps Dincht's head back.
Ward lands with a nice body punch.
Ward dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ward moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Dincht tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ward paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dincht is defended easily by Ward.
Max Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zell Dincht.
Ward paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice uppercut there from Ward.
Ward with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

and Ward connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ward fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ward lands a lovely overhand right.
Dincht throws a hook but Ward avoids it easily.
Nice shot lands for Ward.
Ward fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dincht scores with a nice right hand.
Ward lands a jab to the nose.
Dincht takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Ward cracks the inside of Dincht's front leg.
Ward will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters circling - Dincht throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dincht digs a good body shot into Ward's ribs.
Ward throws a good cross that connects.
Ward connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dincht's hands.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ward wants to free his trapped foot but Dincht is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dincht wants to improve his position but Ward is controlling well.

Ward scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ward throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ward scores with a one two! Dincht had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Ward tries to keep at a distance but Dincht has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ward is trying to break free.
Dincht blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Dincht wants to break the clinch but can't.

Dincht pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Good standup being displayed there by Ward as he connects with a hook.
Dincht missing with a left hand there. Ward was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ward throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Ward cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ward manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dincht manages to get himself to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dincht tries to roll over but Ward keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dincht tries to clinch but Ward moves out of range.
Ward tries to bum rush Dincht with a series of wild strikes but Dincht uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dincht is looking to clinch but Ward is avoiding it.
Dincht tries to clinch but Ward is having none of it.
Dincht closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ward circles away.
A combination from Dincht does no damage.
Ward stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Dincht drops his hands momentarily and Ward takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ward connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Dincht is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dincht walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Ward misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ward changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dincht looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ward smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Ward lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
