The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laitela looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for fili!
fili tries to hold on but Laitela pushes him away.
fili is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
fili stops Laitela from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Laitela working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
fili trying desperately to get to his feet.
Laitela pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Laitela is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, fili has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Laitela wants to control the pace but fili is squirming around nicely.

Laitela goes for an armbar but fili turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from fili.
fili would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Laitela wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
fili controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Laitela lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for fili!
fili holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Laitela tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Laitela is working for a guillotine from mount but fili frees his head quite easily.

Laitela swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and fili is now in Laitela's guard. A big mistake from Laitela there, giving up the dominant position!
Laitela looks gassed!

Laitela can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as fili controls the pace.

fili throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Laitela looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Laitela thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

fili wriggles free and stands up.
Laitela tries to move into range but fili moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Laitela is rocked!

Laitela gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
fili gets back to full guard.
Laitela wants to pass the guard but fili is keeping the position.

Laitela is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that mitsi fili will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A punch lands to the side of Laitela 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Laitela is still on wobbly legs! Can fili finish him?
fili lands with a right and another and another! Laitela is in big trouble! fili lands again and this time it's lights out for Laitela! A quality knockout there for fili.
