The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Contini works the jab nicely.
Contini stuffs the takedown attempt from Saint. Saint gets slowly back to his feet.
Saint fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Saint takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Contini scores with a crisp jab that stopped Saint in his tracks.
Contini darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Contini scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Saint throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Contini's waist but Contini gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Saint off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gui Saint. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saint shoots in but no luck this time.
Saint is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Saint shoots in looking for a takedown. Contini tries to sprawl out of it but Saint keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Contini manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Saint with that takedown attempt.
Saint takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Contini connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Saint's hands.
Contini connects with a good right hand that stumbles Saint. Saint circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Luciano Contini is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Contini stuffs the takedown attempt from Saint. Saint gets slowly back to his feet.
Contini feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Saint's calf.
Contini is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Saint had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Contini clobbers Saint with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice leg kick lands there from Contini.

Saint walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Contini throws an overhand right that drops Saint like a sack of potatoes! Contini dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
