Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slim Shadie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilkka Laitinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laitinen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Ilkka Laitinen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Slim Shadie's chin.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadie smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Laitinen slaps away a takedown attempt from Shadie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Shadie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Shadie fails to land the takedown.
Shadie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slim Shadie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shadie misses with a hook. Laitinen ducked under it nicely.
Laitinen lands a right hook to the body.
Shadie changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Shadie shoots in looking for a takedown. Laitinen tries to sprawl out of it but Shadie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Laitinen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shadie throws a hook but Laitinen avoids it easily.

Laitinen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Laitinen. No joy for Shadie on that attempt.
Shadie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laitinen avoids it really well and circles away.
Laitinen lands with an uppercut that bounces Shadie off the cage and back into rage.
Laitinen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Laitinen takes a swing at Shadie's ribcage but misses.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laitinen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Shadie scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Laitinen to see if he's OK.

Laitinen tries to lock up and control but Shadie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Shadie goes for an armbar but Laitinen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Laitinen.
Laitinen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shadie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shadie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Laitinen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shadie.
Shadie is looking for a sweep.
Laitinen decides to stand back up. Laitinen steps back and let's Shadie get back to his feet.

The fighters circling - Shadie throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shadie shoots in for a takedown but Laitinen shows good takedown defense.

Shadie closes the distance and clinches up with Laitinen, looking for a takedown. Shadie pushes Laitinen against the cage but Laitinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shadie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laitinen tries to avoid it but Shadie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laitinen to the ground. Laitinen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
