Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jongwoo Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Kawajiri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jongwoo Park!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawajiri moves away.
Kawajiri throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Park.
Kawajiri loads up on a big right hand but Park slips the punch.
Kawajiri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Park throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Park throws out a leg kick but Kawajiri moves out of range and Park only half commits.
Kawajiri misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kawajiri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Park lands with a nice body punch.
Kawajiri pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Park looks to score with a jab to the body but Kawajiri is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Park throws a body punch but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Park looks to land a right hand but Kawajiri moved out of range.
Park throws a hook but Kawajiri blocks it.
Kawajiri tries to clinch up but Park circles away and keeps his distance.

Park throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kawajiri sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kawajiri closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Park throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - Park throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A telegraphed right hand from Park misses the target.
Park lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kawajiri at a distance.
Park throws a wild body kick that Kawajiri sees coming a mile off.
Park thows a body shot but no joy.

Park fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawajiri manages to avoid it.
Park swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kawajiri misses with a jab, cross combination.
Park misses with a straight left.
Kawajiri shoots for a double leg takedown but Park sprawls well. He's pushed Kawajiri's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Park displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kawajiri.
Kawajiri staying out of range there.

Kawajiri drives through and clinches with Park against the ropes.
Park is working for takedown but Kawajiri is calmly controlling the position for now.

Park successfully pulls guard.

Park has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kawajiri can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Park is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Park tries to strike from the bottom.
Park looking to control.
Park has a closed guard, preventing Kawajiri from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Park looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kawajiri postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Park is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kawajiri, into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jongwoo Park dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kawajiri keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Park.
Park takes a swing at Kawajiri's ribcage but misses.
Kawajiri throws a right and a left that Park avoids nicely.
Park swings for the body but Kawajiri moves out of range.
Kawajiri on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Kawajiri shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Park wants to hold on but Kawajiri pushes him away.
Park keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Park gets back to half guard.

Park makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Park.
Park has control of Kawajiri's left arm, preventing Kawajiri from doing any damage.
Park wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Park controls Kawajiri momentarily but Kawajiri frees himself.
Park trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Park pulls Kawajiri in close to prevent any damage.
Park doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Park looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Park thuds a left hand into Kawajiri's body.
Kawajiri ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Park throws a jab when Kawajiri was well out of range.
Park throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Park lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Park fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawajiri manages to avoid it.
Jongwoo Park is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Park misses with a body shot.
Park lands a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Park thuds a left hand into Kawajiri's body.
A telegraphed right hand from Park misses the target.
Park connects with the punch.
Park misses the shot to the body.
Park fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawajiri manages to avoid it.
Park throws a hook but Kawajiri blocks it.
Park ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kawajiri keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Park.
Park scores with a hook to the body. Kawajiri takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Park takes a swing at Kawajiri's ribcage but misses.
Kawajiri takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Park fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawajiri manages to avoid it.
Park jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jongwoo Park showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Park is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kawajiri.

Park lands a really nice looking cross but Kawajiri seems unphased.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Kawajiri counters with a nice double leg into side control. Park won't be happy with that.

Park manages to get back to half guard.
Park wants to control but Kawajiri is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Park is pressing down on Kawajiri's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Park controls Kawajiri momentarily but Kawajiri frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Park trying to strike off his back.
Park throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Park looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Park thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Park trying to control the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Park is on top in guard.
Park slips nicely into half guard.
Kawajiri on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kawajiri tries to get out of the position.

Park is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Park takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Park is trying to control. Kawajiri wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Park might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kawajiri kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jongwoo Park just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Park lands a jab to the nose.
Park fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Kawajiri slips a jab from Park.
Park throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice shot lands for Park.
Park misses with an uppercut.
Park misses with a low kick.
A big right from Park misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jongwoo Park comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Park winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
