Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Mendel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Leone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendel comes to the cage accompanied by Lambada. Leone comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mama Said Knock You Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Gregor Mendel could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Frank Leone's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendel swats away the attempt to clinch by Leone.
Mendel gets a takedown into half guard.
Mendel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Leone makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Leone.
Leone wants to stand but Mendel is controlling the position.
Leone wriggles free and stands up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leone is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

and Leone counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Leone cracks Mendel with a big right hand but Mendel just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Leone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

No luck for Mendel with that takedown attempt.

Leone clinches but Mendel breaks the clinch
and Mendel counters with a shoot takedown. Leone fights it but they end up in guard.
Leone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mendel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leone is on top in guard.

Mendel has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Leone doesn't defend quickly enough and Mendel has managed to lock this one up! Can Leone escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mendel on a fantastic submission victory.
