Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danny DeVito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Farro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny DeVito has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny DeVito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ben Farro!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVito lands with a hook. Farro tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A right-left combo lands from DeVito.


It looks like Ben Farro has been cut.
DeVito bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A big right from DeVito misses.
DeVito jabs at Farro's body.
DeVito tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Farro was well out of range. Poor timing from DeVito.
DeVito misses with a body shot.
Farro throws out a loose jab but DeVito uses good head movement to avoid it.
Farro swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Farro looks for a takedown but DeVito sprawls well.
Farro defending well as DeVito loads up on a big left hand.
DeVito throws a looping overhand right but Farro ducks down to avoid it.

DeVito shoots in and bounces Farro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
DeVito will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Farro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Farro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Farro thows a huge punch but DeVito dodges it nicely.

Farro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
DeVito gets back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
DeVito is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Farro is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Farro cracks DeVito with a solid left hand.
Farro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as DeVito works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
DeVito is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Farro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed DeVito's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Farro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Farro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
DeVito won't allow Farro to pass to mount.

Farro wants to take a breather but DeVito is having none of it.
DeVito has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Farro is working away from the top position though.
DeVito works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Farro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Farro is looking to work some ground and pound but DeVito has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

DeVito has his takedown stuffed
enabling Farro to counter with a crisp jab.
Farro fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt DeVito.
Farro loads up on a big right hand but DeVito slips the punch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
DeVito scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ben Farro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Farro looks to land a body kick but DeVito moved away.
Farro throws a body kick that misses.

DeVito gets the takedown into side control.
DeVito moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

DeVito is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Farro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Farro is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Farro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Farro.
Farro postures up and lands a big shot to DeVito's brow.
DeVito is trying to keep Farro in close.

Farro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeVito swivels though and keeps the full guard.

DeVito bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Farro's guard.
Farro looking to hit a scissor sweep but DeVito is one step ahead there.

Farro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Farro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Farro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
DeVito wants to control from the top but Farro keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

DeVito wants to control but Farro is keeping him busy.
DeVito is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Farro wants to get back to full guard but DeVito has mounted him!
Farro is trying desperately to improve position.
Farro is squirming around, avoiding DeVito's attempts to control the action.

DeVito is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Farro to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Farro shrugs it off.
Farro bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Farro is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Farro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeVito swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Farro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Farro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Farro misses with a shot to the body

and DeVito counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Farro is breathing heavily.
DeVito seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Farro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Danny DeVito will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ben Farro's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Farro clobbers DeVito with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Farro throws a shot from downtown. DeVito moves away and avoids it.
Farro bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of DeVito's head.
Left hook, right uppercut from DeVito.
DeVito thows a left - swing and a miss!
Farro jabbing away but nothing is landing.
DeVito connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Farro swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and DeVito counters with a left to the body.

Farro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
DeVito is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Farro's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Farro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Farro lands a nice short elbow.
DeVito is trying to control but can't.

Farro working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Danny DeVito overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
DeVito is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Farro tries to pass to full mount but DeVito defends it.
Farro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

DeVito wants to sweep but no luck.

DeVito working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Farro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but DeVito is tightening it up a little... Farro has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Farro reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Farro taps out! nice BJJ there by DeVito!
