With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bakriam Bouchatankan!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coney circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bouchatankan tries to clinch there but Coney circles away.
Bouchatankan stuffs the takedown attempt from Coney. Coney gets slowly back to his feet.
Bouchatankan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Coney wants to clinch up but Bouchatankan keeps it at a distance.

Coney changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bouchatankan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bouchatankan regains half guard there - taking advantage of Coney's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Bouchatankan wants to get back to his feet.
Coney is keen to just control but Bouchatankan is a slippery customer.
Coney takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Coney uses his free foot to push down on Bouchatankan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bouchatankan.

Coney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

and Coney counters with a single leg into guard. Bouchatankan didn't expect that.
Bouchatankan is looking to stand up but Coney isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coney will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Coney decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Coney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bouchatankan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bouchatankan wants to improve his position but Coney is controlling well.
Coney is looking to take a break and control but Bouchatankan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Coney is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bouchatankan defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bouchatankan wants to control but Coney is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coney takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Coney throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bouchatankan was covering up waiting for the punch and Coney finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Bouchatankan wants to get back to his feet but Coney is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bouchatankan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coney seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Bouchatankan pushes Coney off looking to stand but Coney dives back in and keeps control.
