The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skrtic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Skrtic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lapointe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lapointe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lapointe looks up at the clock and then as Skrtic takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lapointe smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lapointe stands up and beckons Skrtic to his feet.
Skrtic swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Skrtic is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lapointe.
Skrtic can't do much from the bottom here.
Lapointe prevents Skrtic from escaping the position.

Lapointe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Skrtic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lapointe tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Skrtic tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lapointe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Lapointe decides to stand back up. Lapointe steps back and let's Skrtic get back to his feet.

Lapointe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lapointe looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Skrtic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lapointe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Skrtic is trying to stand back up but Lapointe is controlling him
Lapointe is pressing down on Skrtic's thigh, looking to free his foot. Skrtic is holding on for now.
