The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Akiyama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hichu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hichu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hichu wants it to stay on the feet.
Akiyama wants to clinch.
Hichu swats away the attempt to clinch by Akiyama.
Hichu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hichu moves into range and connects with a jab.
Akiyama moves in looking to clinch but Hichu pushes him off.
Hichu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hichu throws an overhand right that lands on Akiyama's shoulder, as Akiyama tries to avoid the shot.
Hichu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Akiyama. Akiyama circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hichu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Akiyama is defending against the submission attempts here by Hichu.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
