The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbossa throws a body punch but uthaisk moves out of range.
uthaisk looks to score with a jab to the body but Barbossa is just out of range.
Barbossa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Barbossa tries to clinch up but uthaisk circles away and keeps his distance.
uthaisk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Barbossa defends it nicely.
uthaisk missing with a left hand there. Barbossa was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
uthaisk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
uthaisk really is a fat lump.
uthaisk happy to just control the position for now.
Barbossa is looking to reverse the position.
uthaisk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Barbossa wants to get back to his feet but uthaisk drags him back down.
uthaisk tries to advance to mount but Barbossa denies him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

uthaisk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barbossa keeps working.
Barbossa sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
uthaisk content to control rather than advance.

uthaisk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barbossa wants to control but uthaisk is keeping busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
uthaisk wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Barbossa looks to score with a jab to the body but uthaisk is just out of range.

Barbossa closes the distance and clinches up with uthaisk, looking for a takedown. Barbossa pushes uthaisk against the cage but uthaisk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
uthaisk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

uthaisk unloads with some shots from mount but Barbossa bucks and avoids them well.

uthaisk trying to control but he's not successful this time.
uthaisk looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
uthaisk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barbossa on the ground.
Barbossa is trying to escape the mount but uthaisk keeps good control and instead manages to take Barbossa's back.
Barbossa tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
uthaisk is standing up, even though he is in mount.
A combination from Barbossa does no damage.
uthaisk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

uthaisk feints and as Barbossa raises his hands in defense, uthaisk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
uthaisk works a leg free and moves into half guard.
uthaisk is looking to take a break and control but Barbossa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
uthaisk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Barbossa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

uthaisk works his way into side control.
uthaisk wants to control but Barbossa is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
