Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Potato Head Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Acker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Acker has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Potato Head Bob's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Potato Head Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arthur Acker!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Acker.

I looks like Acker might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Acker throws an elbow but Bob slips to the side and avoids it well.
Bob manages to work his way to half guard, despite Acker's best efforts.

Acker swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bob is now in Acker's guard. A big mistake from Acker there, giving up the dominant position!

Acker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bob gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Acker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bob defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acker can't keep his opponent in guard - Bob advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Acker tries to lock up and control but Bob gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Acker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Acker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bob swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Acker drops his hands momentarily and Bob takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Acker shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense.

Bob lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Bob works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Bob cracks Acker with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Acker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Acker has Bob pressed against the cage, preventing Bob from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Acker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Acker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bob as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Acker shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Acker tries to close the distance and clinch but Bob swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Acker takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Bob lands a nice shot to the body.
Bob scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Bob throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Acker on the side of the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bob, as that shot connected.
Acker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Potato Head Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arthur Acker.
Acker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Bob jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Acker tries to clinch up.
Acker ducks right into an uppercut from Bob.

Bob connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Acker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Acker lands in his opponent's guard.

A decent looking cross lands there for Bob.

Acker shoots in and bounces Bob off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Let's hope that Acker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bob is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Acker defends well.
Acker stands and throws Bob's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Acker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Acker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bob has hold of Acker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Acker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I think Acker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
