Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jordi Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brennan Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sampson's entrance music is To Be Loved - Papa Roach. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson misses with a head kick.
Sampson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Sampson. Bova shrugs it off though.

Sampson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bova sprawls well initially but Sampson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bova looks gassed!
Sampson wants to control but Bova is keeping him busy.
Sampson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bova on the ground.

Sampson is looking for a kimura but Bova is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sampson to get the leverage.

Bova tries to roll over but Sampson keeps him under control.
Sampson is trying to control the action in half guard but Bova is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sampson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bova has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sampson has managed to get both his arms back between Bova's legs - danger averted.
