With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Hook!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hook changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Russell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Russell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hook on the ground.

Hook is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Russell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hook thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Russell regains half guard.

Hook is looking for a kimura here.
Russell pushes Hook off looking to stand but Hook dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hook is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hook looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hook prevents Russell from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hook wants to free his trapped foot but Russell is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hook is looking for a kimura but Russell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hook to get the leverage.
Russell is trying to stand.

Hook looking for a submission but Russell manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Hook looks gassed!

Hook is posturing up here but Russell has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hook tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hook has to tap! Slick submission there by Russell!
