PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mordechai Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ajax Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jr has chosen NOWHERE TO RUN!!! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mordechai Marx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ajax Jr!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx throws a jab when Jr was well out of range.
Marx throws a jab but it's blocked by Jr.
Marx throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marx digs a good body shot into Jr's ribs.
Marx misses with a looping right.
Jr shoots in but Marx avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Marx misses with a straight left.
Jr fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jr throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Marx counters with a nice body kick.
Marx misses with a wild combination.
Marx connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jr closes the distance looking to clinch

and Marx counters with a takedown into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marx fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Marx is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Marx has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marx stands up and beckons Jr to his feet.

Marx gets the takedown into side control.

Marx is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jr has escaped the position, nice work there.

Marx goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jr rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Marx's guard! Nice work there by Jr!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marx wants to sweep here but Jr controlling him for the moment.
Marx bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jr's guard.
Marx throwing strikes but missing.

Jr looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Marx has picked Jr up and slammed him! Jr can't keep hold of the triangle and Marx manages to pass to side control!

Marx is trying to get an arm triangle but Jr is defending well.
Jr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Marx's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Marx uses his free foot to push down on Jr's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jr.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Marx stands up from mount. Strange move.
Jr tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Marx counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jr thinking.
Jr looks gassed!
Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Marx.
Marx throws a hook but Jr blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marx throws an overhand right that lands on Jr's shoulder, as Jr tries to avoid the shot.
A big right from Marx misses.
Marx just misses with a punch to the body.
Jr closes the distance but Marx moves to the side
and Marx counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jr has his takedown stuffed
and Marx counters with a leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jr.
Mordechai Marx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ajax Jr.
A cross from Marx lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marx lunges at Jr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jr's hand.
Marx misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jr.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mordechai Marx dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Jr takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jr misses with a series of wild punches.
Jr tries to bum rush Marx with a series of wild strikes but Marx uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jr wants to clinch but Marx slips to the side

and Marx counters with a crisp one two that drops Jr! Marx thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Jr to his feet! Jr is in big trouble!
Jr takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Jr is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Marx counters with a right hand from hell and Jr is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mordechai Marx!
