Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Elliente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Give it Away. Ronaldo Elliente has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Elliente is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard.
Smith thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Elliente to regain full guard.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Smith throws and elbow that misses. Elliente uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Elliente!

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Elliente gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smith throws a right and a left that Elliente avoids nicely.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elliente, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith misses with the combination.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Elliente's ribs.
Austin Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Elliente's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Elliente. Elliente circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Elliente napping and manages to drive through into side control!
