The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
FXT lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but da Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
da Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
da Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
da Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but FXT swivels and escapes.
da Silva throws the kick towards the body but FXT avoids it.
Preuss da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
da Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
da Silva tries for a takedown but FXT sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tzu FXT has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Preuss da Silva.
da Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. FXT tries to sprawl out of it but da Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. FXT manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
FXT tries to bum rush da Silva with a series of wild strikes but da Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
FXT shoots for a double leg takedown but da Silva sprawls well. He's pushed FXT's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

FXT stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. da Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

FXT is pushing down on da Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. da Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but FXT has managed to sneak the leg through.
