Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buck Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardinho Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buck Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel shoots in for a double leg but Savage sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Savage closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gabriel to the mat! Gabriel manages to get full guard.
Savage content to stall in guard here.
Savage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Savage tries to free his leg and advance position but Gabriel is retaining full guard.
Savage's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gabriel is trying to keep Savage in close.
Savage is stalling in the full guard.
Savage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gabriel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gabriel is striking from the bottom but Savage uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Savage tries to stand and escape but Gabriel is controlling the position.
Gabriel wants to improve his position but Savage is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Savage doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gabriel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Savage's guard now.

Savage has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gabriel off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Savage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gabriel tries to bench press Savage off him but Savage keeps the position.
Gabriel manages to work his way to half guard, despite Savage's best efforts.
Gabriel wants to control but Savage is keeping busy.
Savage missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Savage tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gabriel.
Gabriel is trying to maintain the position but Savage is very close to passing his half guard.

Gabriel wants to improve his position but Savage is controlling well.
Gabriel is trying to escape back to his feet but Savage uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gabriel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown. Gabriel fights it but they end up in guard.

Savage is pushing down on Gabriel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gabriel is fighting to maintain full guard but Savage has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Savage decides to return to a standing position.
Gabriel misses with a takedown

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Buck Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardinho Gabriel.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Savage uses his free foot to push down on Gabriel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gabriel.
Gabriel tries to lock up and control but Savage gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buck Savage dominated that round.

Savage fails with the takedown

and Gabriel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Savage's guard now.
Gabriel wants to pass the guard but Savage is keeping the position.
Gabriel stopping the sweep attempt from Savage.
Savage is working hard here to advance position.
Savage wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Gabriel has gone for a leg lock! Savage slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gabriel's guard.

Savage stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gabriel misses with a takedown attempt

and Savage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Savage wanted to stand there but Gabriel had control of the position.
Gabriel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Savage controls the pace.

Gabriel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Savage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gabriel is breathing heavily.

Savage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gabriel has a closed guard, preventing Savage from standing up.

Buck Savage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gabriel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Savage lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Gabriel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gabriel wants to stand but Savage is controlling his arm.
Savage is looking for a sweep.
Gabriel tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gabriel goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Savage has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gabriel but great work by Savage.
Gabriel tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Savage presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Savage controlling the pace for now.
Gabriel is in all sorts of trouble here.
Savage is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gabriel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buck Savage dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

so Savage counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gabriel is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gabriel wants to control but Savage is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gabriel slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gabriel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gabriel wants to stand and escape but instead Savage has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gabriel is trying to keep Savage in close.
Savage chips away with some ground and pound.

Gabriel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savage defends it easily.
Gabriel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Savage not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Gabriel keeping full guard, as Savage tries to pass.
Savage is in close to Gabriel's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Gabriel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savage defends well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Savage is standing up over Gabriel. Gabriel looks to escape but Savage dives into side control.
Savage lands a decent elbow from side control.

Savage decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Savage's corner calls for a 1-2. Savage obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Savage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Savage stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ricardinho Gabriel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Savage swats away the attempt to clinch by Gabriel.

And that's the end of the fight!
Buck Savage showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Savage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
