The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Basic shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches MEBELSHIK napping and manages to drive through into side control!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
MEBELSHIK tries to clinch there but Basic circles away.
Basic dives in and grabs MEBELSHIK's left leg, looking for a takedown. MEBELSHIK pushes down on Basic's head and hops out.
Basic shoots for a takedown but MEBELSHIK saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
MEBELSHIK connects with a high kick.

and Basic counters with a shoot takedown. MEBELSHIK fights it but they end up in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

MEBELSHIK has his feet on Basic's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Basic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MEBELSHIK gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Basic is looking to sinch up a triangle. MEBELSHIK throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Basic's body to avoid the submission. Basic has instead reached around MEBELSHIK's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Basic arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
