Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Figueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figueira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ross swivels and escapes.
Ross swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Figueira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ross ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ross avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck for Figueira with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Figueira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ross tries to bum rush Figueira with a series of wild strikes but Figueira uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ross stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ross wants it to stay on the feet.
Ross scores with a sloppy right hand. Figueira should have avoided that one.

Figueira shoots in and drives through. Ross sprawls well.
Ross lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Figueira at a distance.
Figueira is breathing heavily.
Ross throws a right hand that Figueira ducks under and follows up with a left that Figueira also avoids with ease.
Ross throws a nice looking combination but Figueira bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Figueira takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ross drops Figueira with a left right combo! Ross follows him down to the ground into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Marcelo Ross just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Figueira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ross as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown by Figueira or perhaps it was just good defense by Ross which made him look bad.

Ross throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ross lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ross bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ross lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Figueira circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcelo Ross dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ross scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Figueira doesn't seem bothered though.

Ross loads up on a big right hand but Figueira slips the punch.
Figueira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ross tries to avoid it but Figueira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ross to the ground. Ross escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Figueira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ross as he avoids it easily.

Good exchange - Ross coming out on top.
Figueira on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Figueira was well out of range. Poor timing from Ross.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ross cracks a nice hook into Figueira's ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ross lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ross lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Figueira is looking to close the distance but Ross sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Figueira crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Figueira is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
