Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bishop shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bishop was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ono is bucking up trying to escape but Bishop cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ono wants to get back to full guard.
Ono is working hard here to advance position.
Ono is staying active underneath Bishop, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ono is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bishop postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bishop stands up over Ono, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bishop slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A looping hook to the body misses from Bishop. Ono does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bishop cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Bishop got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ono has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bishop has managed to get both his arms back between Ono's legs - danger averted.

Ono had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bishop defends it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well Bishop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
