Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eli Barden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Poker Stars!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Stars or perhaps it was just good defense by Barden which made him look bad.
Barden lands with a shot to the body.
Stars looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barden is fending him off so far but Stars persists. Nope, Barden circles away and we're back to standing.
A combination from Barden does no damage.
Stars fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barden avoids it really well and circles away.
Eli Barden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Poker Stars.
Horrible takedown by Stars or perhaps it was just good defense by Barden which made him look bad.
Barden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stars.
Stars shoots in but Barden avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stars looks gassed!
Barden pivots, looking for a leg kick but Stars is out of range and Barden settles back down.
Barden scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Poker Stars has been cut.
Barden connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stars. Stars circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good standup being displayed there by Barden as he connects with a hook.
Barden lands a big uppercut and Stars crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Stars looks OK. Barden waves Stars back to his feet!
Stars is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barden gets a powerful takedown and that's hurt Stars.
Stars is still in real trouble! Can Barden finish him?
You can see the frustration on Stars's face as Barden controls the position.
Stars seems to have recovered his senses.
Barden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Barden decides to stand up, so the ref orders Stars to his feet.
Barden scores with a takedown into Stars's guard.
Barden won't allow Stars to get back to his feet.
Barden drops back looking for a leg! Stars is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stars manages to kick Barden off! Barden jumps back into Stars's guard.
Barden advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barden scores with a couple of short elbows.
Stars is trying to get back to his feet.
Barden controlling the position.
Stars parries the strikes from Barden easily there. Barden is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stars to escape.
Barden content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Barden is working to tighten is grip on Stars's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Stars has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Barden is really squeezing tight and eventually Stars passes out! Barden breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
