PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Halme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulf Gurnisson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Halme might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tony Halme - Kuningas Voittamaton. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halme just misses with a punch to the body.
Gurnisson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Halme circles away quickly and effectively.
Halme missing with a left hand there. Gurnisson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Halme misses with a hook. Gurnisson ducked under it nicely.

Gurnisson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Halme throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gurnisson forces Halme back against the cage and clinches.
Halme tries to break free but Gurnisson pushes him back against the cage.

Halme breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gurnisson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gurnisson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Halme throws out the jab.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Halme wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gurnisson has him pressed against the cage.

Halme has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gurnisson is working away from the top position though.

Gurnisson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Halme turns into him and now he's in Gurnisson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halme stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gurnisson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Halme postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gurnisson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gurnisson pulls Halme in close to prevent any damage.

Halme stays in close to Gurnisson's body and controls the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Halme is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gurnisson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gurnisson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Gurnisson in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

and Gurnisson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gurnisson jumps guard and drags Halme to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Halme postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gurnisson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gurnisson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halme manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Halme will probably get the nod.

That's time! Halme's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Gurnisson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Halme lands a big right hand that sends Gurnisson crashing to the mat! Halme stays standing though and waves Gurnisson back to his feet!

and Halme counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Gurnisson has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
