PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gustov Perculov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sten Grek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perculov shoots in and bounces Grek off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Perculov stops Grek from standing up.
Grek keeping moving, preventing Perculov from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perculov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Grek is trying to control the position but Perculov postures up.
Grek wants to stand but Perculov is controlling the position.

Perculov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Grek is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Grek has escaped and now he's on top!

Perculov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Grek wants to pass the guard but Perculov is keeping the position.
Perculov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grek on the ground.
Grek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Perculov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perculov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perculov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Perculov is trying to control. Grek wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Perculov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Grek is trying to get back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Perculov prevents Grek from standing back up.
Grek is refusing to be controlled, as Perculov sits in half guard.
Grek is looking to control Perculov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Grek avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Perculov shoots in and bounces Grek off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Grek pulls Perculov in close to his closed guard and prevents Perculov from doing any damage or advancing position.

Grek throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Grek controls Perculov momentarily but Perculov frees himself.
Grek wants to sweep but no luck.
Grek looks gassed!

Perculov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grek swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Perculov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Grek has his feet on Perculov's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Grek misses with a takedown

and Perculov counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Perculov shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Grek trying to control but Perculov postures up.

Perculov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
It looks like Perculov is going to stand back up.
Perculov controlling the pace.
Perculov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Perculov moves nicely into side control.
Grek manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grek kicks off Perculov and gets to his feet.

Perculov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Grek paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Perculov breaks from the clinch.

Perculov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Grek manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Grek has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Perculov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Grek has tightened it up now! Perculov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
