Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rufus Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McManus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Disturbed-Prayer. Lee has chosen Kick out the Jams by The MC5s as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan McManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rufus Lee!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McManus takes a swing at Lee's ribcage but misses.
Lee dodges the punch combination from McManus.
Lee lands with a hook. McManus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Lee chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lee defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McManus.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from McManus, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McManus.
Nice sprawl there from Lee as McManus shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan McManus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McManus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee did well to prevent McManus getting side control.
Lee tries to get to full guard but McManus has control of the leg.
Lee wants to get back to full guard but McManus has passed into side control.
McManus sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Lee slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Lee is looking to escape.
McManus not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McManus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
McManus controlling the action here.
McManus working over Lee with some ground and pound. Lee looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lee punching from the bottom.

McManus trying to work for an americana but Lee has managed to regain full guard.
Lee keeping moving, preventing McManus from controlling successfully.
Lee manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee controlling from mount.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McManus is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rufus Lee dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McManus.

McManus gets a takedown into half guard.
Lee is looking to control McManus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?

McManus is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McManus to get the leverage.
McManus sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lee defending well though.
Lee is looking for a sweep. McManus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McManus is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lee!
A nice elbow there by McManus.

The referee warns Lee that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McManus throwing strikes here but Lee is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Lee manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Lee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McManus throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely.
McManus wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

Lee pulls McManus in close to his closed guard and prevents McManus from doing any damage or advancing position.
McManus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McManus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McManus!
McManus keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Lee looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McManus really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan McManus dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


McManus tries to close the distance and clinch but Lee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McManus misses with a straight right.

McManus clinches with his opponent.
Lee blocks an uppercut.
McManus has Lee pressed against the cage, preventing Lee from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee slips a straight right by McManus.
Rufus Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McManus misses with a wild body shot.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee misses with a double jab.
Lee steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McManus. That one must have hurt.
Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McManus manages to avoid it.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from McManus, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lee.
McManus fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McManus moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McManus missing with a left hand there. Lee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McManus counters with a two punch combo.
McManus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lee scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Lee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McManus.
McManus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McManus shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan McManus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McManus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McManus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lee uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McManus has time to react.


It looks like Dan McManus has been cut.
Lee connects with a body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McManus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McManus gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice jab there from Lee.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McManus fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nice shot lands for Lee.
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice jab there from Lee.
McManus on the wrong end of a nice jab.


Dan McManus's cut is getting worse.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lee. McManus shrugs it off though.

Lee drops McManus with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McManus looks back up at him and smiles so Lee waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


McManus is rocked!
Lee connects with a superb combination that knocks McManus out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Lee before he can land any more shots to the unconscious McManus!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rufus Lee!
