The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbossa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barbossa throws a jab but it's blocked by Coleman.
Nice sprawl there from Coleman as Barbossa shoots in.
Coleman swats away the attempt to clinch by Barbossa.
Barbossa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coleman as he avoids it easily.
Barbossa wants to clinch up but Coleman keeps it at a distance.
Barbossa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coleman was well out of range. Poor timing from Barbossa.
Coleman blocks a head kick by Barbossa.
Barbossa closes the distance and clinches up with Coleman, looking for a takedown. Barbossa pushes Coleman against the ropes but Coleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Barbossa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coleman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Barbossa is looking to escape.
Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barbossa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coleman connects with a nice short shot to Barbossa's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hernesto Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Coleman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Barbossa's guard.
