PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eino Leino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arik Hazard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arik Hazard told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eino Leino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arik Hazard!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leino throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hazard on the side of the head.

Hazard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Leino wants to stand but Hazard is controlling the position.

Leino pushes Hazard off and scrambles back to his feet.
Leino thuds a left hand into Hazard's body.
Hazard fails to land the takedown.
Leino misses with a series of wild punches.

Leino instigates a clinch.
Hazard missing with knees to the body.
Leino prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hazard drops down looking for an ankle pick but Leino pulls his leg out and moves away.
Eino Leino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arik Hazard.
Hazard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Leino circles away.
No joy there for Leino, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Leino lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hazard backs up against the cage.

It looks like Arik Hazard has been cut.
Leino lands with a nice combination. Hazard backs away looking to recover.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leino throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Hazard gets the takedown into side control.
Hazard looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leino is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hazard is controlling him well.

Hazard is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leino knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Leino explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Leino throws a right and a left that Hazard avoids nicely.
Leino tries to bum rush Hazard with a series of wild strikes but Hazard uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hazard looks to clinch
and Leino counters with a left and a right that stings Hazard.
Leino misses with a series of wild punches.
Some wild striking there from Leino.
Leino lands a lovely overhand right.
Hazard takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hazard tries to move into range but Leino moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Leino fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Leino misses with a double jab.
Leino throws out a powerful jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hazard misses with a takedown
and Leino cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hazard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Leino looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hazard tries to move to mount but Leino blocks the move with his legs.
Leino is looking to reverse the position.

Hazard has hold of Leino's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Leino seems comfortable defending it but Hazard has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Leino is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Leino is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hazard couldn't care less - he's delighted!
