Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mason Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan McGraw!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone misses with a takedown attempt - McGraw sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McGraw closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stone to the mat! Stone manages to get full guard.
McGraw throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McGraw tries to free his leg and advance position but Stone is retaining full guard.
Stone might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McGraw slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGraw stands up over Stone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stone thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

McGraw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stone swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Stone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McGraw is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stone is keen to just control but McGraw is a slippery customer.

Stone is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Stone looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
McGraw is doing well to control the position and prevent Stone from advancing to side control.
McGraw tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Stone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McGraw doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stone.

and McGraw counters with a shoot takedown. Stone fights it but they end up in guard.

Stone manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Stone can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGraw is looking to escape.
Stone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Stone fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


McGraw is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Stone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McGraw can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Stone is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McGraw is surviving well by controlling Stone's body position as best he can.

McGraw is squirming around, avoiding Stone's attempts to control the action.

Stone looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
McGraw seems to have recovered his senses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGraw regains half guard.
McGraw is staying active underneath Stone, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stone with a poor takedown

and McGraw counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stone's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mason Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stone lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McGraw!

McGraw has left one of his arms exposed and Stone doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. McGraw screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mason Stone!
