PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between White Zucchini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomson Kavalier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zucchini's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, One. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zucchini closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kavalier did well to prevent Zucchini getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zucchini connects with a nice short shot to Kavalier's temple.

Zucchini is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kavalier doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zucchini.

Zucchini fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kavalier sprawls well initially but Zucchini persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Zucchini winds up and cracks Kavalier with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Zucchini jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kavalier is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kavalier and Zucchini has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Zucchini tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zucchini has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kavalier is squirming around, avoiding Zucchini's attempts to control the action.
Zucchini blocks Kavalier's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Zucchini pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Zucchini can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kavalier is looking to escape.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zucchini cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Zucchini postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kavalier looks a forlorn figure.

Zucchini gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

White Zucchini dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zucchini feints and as Kavalier raises his hands in defense, Zucchini changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Zucchini wants to stand but Kavalier has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kavalier has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Zucchini doesn't defend quickly enough and Kavalier has managed to lock this one up! Can Zucchini escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kavalier on a fantastic submission victory.
