Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Band swats away the attempt to clinch by White.
Band fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Band shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with White but White pushes him off and we're back to square one.

White closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Band is trying to get back to half guard.
White trying to control the position but Band is working away.
White tries to move to mount but Band blocks the move with his legs.
White trying to control the action but Band is working from the bottom.

Band is trying to control White's posture but White avoids it.

White stands up and beckons Band to his feet.

Band closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming White to the mat! White manages to get full guard.
Band is in close to White's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Band drops back looking for a leg! White is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and White manages to kick Band off! Band jumps back into White's guard.
White trying to keep a closed guard but Band is proving a slippery customer.

White is pulling down on Band's head. It's preventing any offense from Band, at least for the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
White is trying to control the position but Band postures up.

Band drops back looking for a leg! White is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and White manages to kick Band off! Band jumps back into White's guard.
Band in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Band accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
White tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stephen White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Band gets caught flat footed, as White shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
White stopping the sweep attempt from Band.
White wants to control from the top but Band keeps moving.
Band avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Band working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Band is tightening it up a little... White has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! White reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! White taps out! nice BJJ there by Band!
