The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waters bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Waters trying to control the action but Maia is working from the bottom.
Waters working the ground and pound.

Waters looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Waters scores with punches from side control.
Waters is chipping away with strikes.

Waters scores with a couple of short elbows.
Maia is trying to get back to half guard.
You can see the frustration on Maia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Maia is looking to reverse the position.
Waters lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Waters is working to tighten is grip on Maia's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Maia has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Waters is really squeezing tight and eventually Maia passes out! Waters breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
