The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva blocks a head kick by Richardson.
Silva throws a series of punches but Richardson avoids them all with ease.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Richardson.
Richardson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Mark Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richardson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Richardson won't be happy with that.
Silva working the ground and pound but Richardson is defending the strikes.
Silva fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Silva throws an elbow but Richardson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Richardson can't do much from the bottom here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Richardson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silva taking a break here but Richardson is having none of it and regains half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva with the ground and pound but Richardson uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Richardson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Richardson sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
George Richardson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Richardson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silva. That did some damage!
Silva is breathing heavily.
Richardson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Richardson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
