The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson pushes Geist up against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson wants a takedown.

Johnson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Geist regains guard immediately.
Geist looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
Geist preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Johnson cracks Geist with a solid left hand.
Geist wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Geist swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Geist ducks under a wild hook from Johnson.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Geist paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Geist scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Geist wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Geist lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Johnson gets full guard.
Geist won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet.
Geist stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Geist throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Geist manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson is in all sorts of trouble here.

Geist loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Johnson scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Geist land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Geist stands and salutes the crowd.
